MY SPIRIT BABY STORY

I didn’t expect to do this work. I like to call it “the world of the weird,” because that’s exactly how I felt the first time two babies (twins) hunted me down until I told their mom they were there. These beautiful boys were part of a late-term loss, and just holding space for their mom’s grief was hard enough. But then they started chatting with me so loud, I could barely hear her. After two weeks of them hounding me, telling me to get over myself, and telling me what they needed their mom to know, I finally asked her, “How open are you?”

I then told her everything they said to me. They confirmed things I couldn’t have known (like the doorbell ringing in the middle of the night, pictures falling off the wall, the memorial they had in their nursery). Their mom experienced healing that I believe goes beyond what I could have offered with just psychotherapy. It took me 8 years to realize how healing this work can be for other people. After “coming out” July 2020, I’ve gotten to be a part of many incredible stories, and I am so grateful to get to do this work.
